Subject: Cover Crops for the 21st Century

Hello folks,

A week or two ago, I posted an announcement about a workshop titled "Cover Crops for the 21st Century" that will be taking place next Tuesday 6/15 at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL.

here is a link to my original post which includes a flyer and a Farm Week article.

The event starts at 8 am with a free breakfast followed by presentations and discussion about planting and termination technologies, herbicide residual concerns, nutrient management impacts, cost share opportunities and other practical management issues.

PLEASE register ASAP if you are planning to eat breakfast. Yesterday was the official deadline for registration but I would call the McLean County SWCD (309) 4452-0830 if you are interested.

If you can't make it, I just learned that someone from Piatt County is planning to video tape the presentations. I can probably include this video on the free CD of cover crop info that I am sending out to anyone that requests it.
