Blue Earth, MN | My wife and I purchased a house a year ago and decided this spring that we want to replace the fern garden with a vegetable garden. I haven't pulled any soil tests and am wondering if anyone can give me an idea what kind of pH and possible fertility I'm working with? The ferns have been there a long time and the soil underneath them is so beautiful.
Also for the strip till enthusiasts, I’ve attached a few pics showing my strip tilled garden. The fern residue should provide good weed control.
