| just got a new 1240 12/23 CIH planter with bullk fill. first time around a bulk fill planter...explain to me how the process of getting seed from the bulk hopper to the small hopper works and happens. tried to plant our 2 acre sweet corn patch today and we were having trouble...we couldnt get the seed to blow out to fill up the small hoppers...talked to my buddy who runs a jd planter and told me to fill the small hopper up with seed first...wa la...it worked
then i changed the planter over to plant field corn and forgot to fill the small hoppers up first, but it worked correctly anyway...maybe that is why the manual states that sweet corn is not reccommeded for bulk fill planters.
this got me wondering how the system works and how does the system know when to send seed to the small hoppers. | |
