Subject: TC 806 ACRE numbers

USA
Here is a link that has % of corn sales per month.

http://www.extension.iastate.edu/agdm/crops/pdf/a2-15.pdf

Monthly % totals will probably be a liitle different this year with wet, late fall harvest.

% 5 year average corn sales till the end of Feb are about 63% of total. 07-08 market year about 65%.By the end of Mar 70 plus % of corn should have been sold.

Here are prices used for ACRE calculation from the first 6 months of the market year ending Feb 28 from ERS- USDA site.

.............................5 year ave sales % from above link
Sep-$3.25.....................7.2%
Oct-$3.61......................11.5%
Nov-$3.65.....................11.1%
Dec-.$3.59.....................11.3%
Jan-$3.66......................14.5%
Feb-$3.45........................7.2%
Mar $3.60 ?...................7.3% If Mar price is $3.60, ave price will be around $3.55 on 70% of corn sold.

Here are prices for 09 corn ERS- USDA site.

Mar- $3.85
Apr-$3.85
May-$3.96
Jun- $4.01
Jul- $3.60
Aug-$3.33

Ave price in 09 for Apr-Aug is $3.75. If prices ave the same for this year in Apr- Aug time frame ave price for ACRE would be around $3.61. Using the current IL corn yield of 175 = 172 ACRE yield when using planted acre number, instead of harvest acre number.

$3.61 ave price translate into about $18x.833% = about $15 ACRE corn payment for 2009 in IL.
