southern colorado | thanks for the help. my original problem with the the 5488 was intermittent three point operation then no steering then tractor would not move at all.paid ih mechanic 250.00 to diagnose problem and he said my flex plate must be shot. split tractor and found no problem with with flex plate.next they told me to bring in rear hydraulic pump and if it is bad then it probably took out other pump also. pump looks good now i will check out front pump.also have checked the compensation valve on front pump and it appears good. i am not sure the piston in the pump is moving back and forth properly. wonder why ih mechanic did not put gauges on to begin with.tractor has about 7500hrs with recently rebuilt motor and trans. moving away from thinking it is a priority valve problem. thanks gary | |
