Subject: Using USGS Benchmark Mounument to set fixed base station

Southern IL
Anyone have experience setting their base station from a known USGS benchmark. We have a couple within 1 to 2 mile from some our fixed stations. Set one today it was 8.7 feet to high. Have Trimble 442 Glonass and had to do it on the point to height instead of the antenna height. Is that right? I also can't figure how to change the antenna height offset on the yellow radio box (ROVER) when I have the antenna(bubble) on the survey stick. Went back and rechecked at monument 2 hrs later and was 1/16 inch off. Left it alone. I was impressed.
