Subject: corn inputs

Martinsville, Ohio

I have a client who asked me my opinion and not sure what to tell him.

His fertilizer dealer raised his prices to:

$220 28%

$325 MAP no DAP

$255 0-0-60

Guardsman Max $46.56 gal

Balance Pro $6.88 oz

O Max $31 gal, he paid them $18 for Honcho last year

Makes his corn bill $100 per acre without seed

He gets good service from them but thinks they are gouging him

Another dealer priced him $300 MAP, $205 28 $245 potash, Co-op is $300 MAP $302 DAP $239 potash, all based on paying now.

He doesn't like to be"gouged" but afraid to leave them because of good service and unknown service with the other two as he is small potatoes to all of them.

I kind of think he should bite the bullet and stay with his present company, they are the closest, the are larger than two but smaller than the coop and have a track record.

What would you tell him?

Thanks,

Ed
