Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana | Started corn today. Pioneer 32B83 with Dekalb 64-27 for a refuge. Right around 30% moisture...the Pioneer is full of the Diplodia (sp) ear mold (I'll guess about 5-10% damage). Haven't seen it(mold) in the Dekalb refuge corn...is this a variety susceptible thing?
I figured this would be my driest corn...planted April 25.....the next time I got in the field was May 20.
Any chance, with this crazy year, the later corn will be 30% also? Never thought I'd be hoping for 30% corn (LoL).
