Subject: When putting corn into plowed CRP.......what kind of insect infestation would one expect?

Oskaloosa, Iowa 52577

Fall 07 we have CRP ground that is coming out.........thinking of putting that to corn instead of beans first planting spring 08..

CRP would be moldboard plowed in fall 07.

We would be putting down raw turkey litter in fall, and turning that over.

Should one expect to see larger bug problems than usual in the corn?

If the winter is really cold, should that kill most of the bugs if the plowed ground is left rough?

Thanks.
