Iowa | I am 33 years old and I got the thinking about how much harvest has changed in my short life as we were getting everything to the field today. When I was a kid dad would get in the combine take it to the field and start combining, we would have 2 gravaty wagon hooked up to a tractor (sometimes 2 tractors and 4 wagons) and have a pickup there, maybe. Now we have to haul our heads to the field get them hooked up to the combines, get the tractor and grain cart there, and the semis there, as well as a few pickups and a fuel trailer. It sure takes a lot more to get going but once we get started we can get a lot more done in a day. | |
