Subject: Mefenoxam and Metalaxyl. Plant health vs.soil health?

Hi. I have a question or two for those up on micro-biology. In the soil, what damage can be done to the soil using labelled or "applied?" rates of Metalaxyl or Mefenoxam to help fight lethal or damaging pathogens to a planted crop? Non specific crop, just arbitrary question in general. If either fungicide, or both, is used only in the seed trench and to seed depth, will catastrophic death of beneficial fungi result in a larger area surrounding the seedling roots?

Thanks.
