Subject: Organic crops, notill or work ground?

Flandreau, SD

I drove by a guy that I knew did organic corn beans and had never driven by in the summer.

OH MY GOD, what a flipping disaster!!!!!!  Looked like he mowed off half of a corn field, the other half I could not tell what was there except some rows by the drive way showed up as we passed.  all his other fields I could not tell what the heck was planted.

Did have one bean field that did not look half bad but was still half weeds.

I was set to put a peice of ground in the organic transition phase next year (this fall with cover crop???) but oh man that gave me a little scare last night.

Any of you organic guys have some pics of your field that you would share?  or email them.  I would expect some weeds to get by but..........

What are most of you guys no till or conventional tillage organic?  What would be a good cover crop to get put on behind soybeans going to corn for 2010 that would get worked under in the spring?
