Subject: Keypad Problem

Devils Lake, ND

The keypad, and all the other buttons on my HP laptop have stopped working.  I do have my touch pad, though.  I recently hd gone into the task manager and shut down some services and applications that I thought were unnecessarily slowing down my machine.  I was careful not to mess with anything Microsoft, but I still may have shut down something I shouldn't have.

Last night, I tried to restore it back to the oldest date retained in the memory, 8-18.  It went through the process, but told me at the end it had restored to 8-26.  I did this twice and got the same results.

I don't know if shutting those services and applications is the cause, but would it be a good idea to just reinstall Windows?  Or what should I do?

Thanks.
