Subject: Keeping kids busy this summer

Central Kansas

Have kids from age 11 to 19 that want to help out at home during the summer because I have paid them for certain jobs in the past.  They keep track of hours when building fence or driving tractor.  When I'm out spraying or planting there isn't always those kinds of things for them to be doing.  I'm trying to figure out  a system to have them do daily chores and yard work depending on age for maybe a basic allowance?  Fieldwork and harvest time hours could be on top of this?  I never had something like this when I was a kid but need to figure something out here.  I don't mind paying them to get them out of the house and doing something constructive.  What has worked for you guys?
