Subject: Patching In Beans

mascoutah, IL
I've done my fair share of adding beans over the years to thin stands by usually just driving at an angle and now with a variable rate planter can change populations on the go which is nice. Usually like to get in as soon as possible to get the new stand in before the old stand shades them off. Anyone have a good hard cutoff on when that is? Have about 150 acres that I could save and would probably only need to go over about 30 of that. The other 150 is a disaster and going to start over. Beans were planted 4-22 thru 4-25 but haven't done a whole lot yet. Problem is I needed one more day of dry but have rain on the way later. Most of the beans are around the first trifoliate but it could possibly be 2 weeks before I can get there not to mention need to get all of the corn planted yet.
