Dayton, IA | I know people have done this, put a gandy or valmar box on the combine or cornhead. Thinking about trying something this fall. Even if having to stop every 40 acres to load seed would only take a few minutes and would be infinitely cheaper and easier than trying to keep someone in the drill all fall. At 40 lbs of rye per acre, it would only take a 30 bu hopper to do 40 ac. Would a CIH 8250 combine have enough hydraulic capacity to tap into somewhere to run a fan, or are these systems run off a separate small motor? Just thinking and haven’t seen much specifics about how people are adding these systems to their combines. | |
