It's been really windy of late.  I'm pretty sick of day after day of wind, some gusts up to 40mph and many days of constant 25 mph winds.

I heard an opinion that we didn't have all this wind and such velocity before they put up all these windmills.  Are these HUGE boxes creating electricity or do they create wind?  Do they have motors inside those huge boxes or generators?  Does power run to them or away from them?
