Central NE | These pics show the varibilty in no-till due to climate and % residue cover.
Ear one and two planted on dryland south of Red Cloud NE April 30 at 20K population, ear 1 is from the best area (18x50kernals), ear 2 is from the worst(16x50kernals) into moderate dryland corn residue.
Ear three was planted the NEXT DAY 105 miles northwest - north of Lexington, NE on May 1 at 30K pop. (16x40kernals) on irrigated ground, extremely heavy corn on corn residue.
Ear four is from the same field, just lower amounts of residue cover.(18x44kernals)
Ear five is from the same field, but came off of the dryland corner with moderate residue cover. planted May 1 at 20K(16x47kernals)
Ear six was planted on the other half of the pivot north of Lexington, NE two weeks later on May 14 into some spring killed alfalfa.(16x48kernals)
