| I have attached photos of some problem areas in my corn field. I would appreciate any insight.
The corn looks great in the majority of the field and is shoulder high. The problem areas are barely knee high. A few of the problem areas are slightly lower lying and I am curious if it was an issue of too much moisture? Possibly I could easily remedy with more tile. The other issue is that the soil map shows Donnan Silt Loam as a soil type in the vicinity of these problem spots but not completely these areas. The field is mostly a CSR 82-83. The Donnan areas are only a CSR of 55. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this soil type? I am wondering if it would pay to lay more tile or if it is likely soil type that is affecting the crop?
The first photo shows a normal area of the field. The subsequent photos are of the problem areas.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
