Extreme Northeast Colorado
An estimated 30-40 Tons of 5x6 round net wrapped bales of field pea straw baled behind the combine in July.
We chose to put up this straw because it was a very clean field with very few weeds. For straw there's a surprising amount of green in it.
It tests 9% protein with a decent amount of calcium. It would work great to incorporate into many rations. I have fed it straight to dairy steers on a high corn low forage ration. They love the stuff.
Price per ton where it sits east of Holyoke, Colorado near the Nebraska state line.
