Central/East Central Illinois
Farmers Are you considering retiring, downsizing, or changing careers? Are you a landowner looking for a new tenant? I am a fourth generation farmer and a graduate from the University of Illinois with a Bachelors in Agricultural and Consumer Economics with a concentration in Agribusiness, Markets, and Management, and Minors in Crops and Soils Management and Leadership Studies. I am looking to find ground to rent so I can join my small centennial family farm as the fourth generation of farmers. Our farming operation is financially secure and uses the latest technology, such as RTK GPS, swath control on our planter and sprayer, variable rate seeding, and grid soil sampling, to be as efficient as we can. For example, our pesticide cost averages about $30/acre less than the average farm according to FBFM records. It’s very important to note that I don’t intend to impose on others and that I’m not interested in buying ground. I am interested in complete buyouts or renting ground from farmers who plan to retire soon or get out of farming or landlords looking for new tenants. If you farm or own ground in Central/East Central Illinois and want to help a young farmer get started farming, I would like to talk to you.
