S Illinois | I had read that investor Micheal Burry(Big Short movie/shorting the housing market fame) was sort of the impetus for it. He got long GameStop back last spring and pressured the GameStop board to begin a share buy back program. I am not sure if there would be enough shares retired to make those funds short selling way over sold, but it sounds like this has been brewing for a while. | |
