The H/L/R shift needs a clutch and is unsycronised, but they actually shift quite easily, especially for that era of tractor.

There are two shift patterns 1-4. The original was nick named Guess-a-gear because it had a very strange shift pattern. Then some heads were banged together in Basildon and they made it into a proper H pattern that worked really well. The guess a gear can be converted.

These are old girls now and while they never set the world alight, do keep chugging along with plenty of parts still available to keep them going
