You're right, thanks for explaining that.
Although it still seems possible something could happen with the motor over current protection not functioning properly and drawing more current than the wire can handle.
if a motor had a 80 amp breaker and the wire was #6
and the heater in the starter was rated a 25 amp
and something created a draw higher the 50 the breaker should kick is a pretty fast time
