| The heater strips on magnetic starter should allow for starting load. The wiring should match the breaker, or better yet fuses as they do not change value. Number 6 wire is rated for 50 amps, if cooper and not in enclosed area. 4 would get you 10 more amp rating. Alum wire needs to be one size larger, I would avoid it. Cost might make a difference to you. I do not have a chart in front of me ] as to the distance. Your supply house should be of help. Little rusty since most of our loads are three phase. | |
