I'd imagine he means "hot wired" because on the flds I have there is a separate wire going to batt for the ECM. My '96 pretty much acted like his- lite would come on- start to sputter and die. Seemed to act up more when it's cold outside. I disconnected the plug to the sensor in the reservoir and stuck a piece of wire "jumping" it and never bothered again. I have since replaced sensor.
