Middlesex County, Ontario | I think the shaft usually goes straight through to power the impeller.
If you could find a small manure agitator (stir stick) they usually have a gearbox with two 540 6 spline input shafts and one output shaft. You swap between input shafts to reverse the direction of the prop. Should be fairly cheap to find one on craigslist.
Since the boxes have 2 input shafts you could still use the snowblower on the rear of the tractor as well.
