Well might not be the TA. Those if I recall were shifted electrically by moving the speed lever sideways. So it could be something very simple on the outside. Find a service manual and do some checking. I have a 33 that the TA has been out on the low side for a couple of years now. The way prices are it will be out for a couple more years!! Anyway I doubt your going to hurt anything if you do not get it fixed. I did the TA myself in the 37 about 4 years ago now and seems like it was around $3000.00. It is not a bad job if you have the stands and time.
