Watford City, ND | I was having a visit with some neighbors who went with a new Flexi-Coil air seeder this last spring. The went with the broadcast option and used only Urea. It ended-up being a dry year, so who knows how well yet that decision is going to be. But here's my question...any major preference between NH3, urea, or liquid? I've always used NH3. My air-seeder is on 12" rows with a sidebanding option (min-till). Isn't NH3 the cheapest option? Some just prefer to handle urea over NH3, and others I know use only liquid becasue they claim it is the most effective.
I would like to spread some urea on a couple of spots before seeding because I'm developing saline spots. Is it true that NH3 drys out soils more than other ferts?
Any thoughts or opinions would be good to listen too! Thanks guys!! | |
