In a spring application trial, no positive effect was seen here with either Poast Plus or Select Max. Where we did see something work was the full rate of Kerb, but that's 4lbs and rather expensive. BTW -- this trial was really to control bluegrass in alfalfa. 1lb of Kerb, with early spring tillage with a S-tine, resulted in 90% control of bluegrass. Again, Select and Poast didn't do the job, only stunted the bluegrass back a bit. Bob Wilson, our agronimist out of Ely, will be publishing a paper on the results of the trial we ran here this past spring. I wish Kerb were cheaper. At the 4lb/acre rate, it will take out most any grass you can name and there is no yield drag on the alfalfa. You apply it in the late fall, just before freeze-up.
