Iowa | Already using 3 trucks. Sometimes they are in line at commercial storage. Sometimes they have to stop to do livestock chores. Sometimes they have to stop while auger is moved to another bin. Sometimes they have to go a few miles out of their way to re-fuel. Sometimes one may have to sit while that driver goes to town for parts or food for everyone else.
In all of the above scenerios, combine keeps plugging away, filling the cart that keeps misteriously being emptied while combine is making another round rather than sitting full waiting for a truck that has an unknown arrival time.
We have business band radios which helps take the mistery out of it somewhat.
Best is cart running. A decent "second" is cart at end of field. No cart is so slow that I think I'd just do livestock work until I had all 3 trucks able to always keep moving. | |
