Farmers cried for beans that wouldn't split or lodge so now we have all of these thinner line beans that stay a little green for our liking!
I really think corn traits have been easier to correct because of hybridization, something many crops like wheat and soybeans have not.
Last year, we saw 5.2 bu on about 100 plots across Indiana and Ohio so I imagine more was used this year.
The biggest change may be the reduction of respiration by limiting ethylene gas production. I guess if you don't plan for it, it could cause you trouble.
With the weeds so difficult to control this year I can see why many never applied any, too busy spraying for weeds and herbicide and fungicide applications are really two different things.
