Subject: Yellow & black caterpillars....nature's kind..not Holt's

Chebanse, IL.....

I have never in my life seen so many caterpillars-the yellow & black (1 tone) type. I'm not sure what they grow into....maybe yellow & black garden (banana) spiders or something. But anyway-there are trillions of them around this yr. They're coming inside the buildings like it's going to freeze tomorrow. If you stand still for a minute, you get the feeling that the whole outside is moving. There seems to be about equal # of yellow & black ones. I think the coloring is supposed to be indicative of winter severity.

But anyway-now I'm worried about being overrun by these things. Not many CRW this yr, perhaps the caterpillars (we don't call them kitty-kattys here) ate them all?

Anyone else notice abundance?
