| I see it every year. Farms with no chance of having RR gene in vol corn have vol corn in their RR soybeans. Not picking on RR corn. Just using it to show RR gene is being sold without tech fee sometimes. Or I guess I could buy in to the "failure to clean equipment" theory. But the level of RR vol corn is way to high to be explained that way. At a 1% contamination rate of seed you would have to miss every ear or better yet shell every ear and have it scattered out the back.
If you ever get a chance to look at a company price list you will see more marketing at work.
As a rule, most companies sell at a lower price into the corn belt. Corn belt also gets better "deals" than we do in the Southern Region. Big farmers here can and do haul seed out of the Corn belt cheaper.
