| Your very right about the metality of making hay in the eastern half of the country but I enjoy learning from you guy's out west who make hay like most here would never dream of. "Here" at least most hay is grown by cattle farmer's who feed most of it and might sell a little bit but there are a few commercial hay producer's who's operations probably aren't that much different than what you have out west but on a smaller scale. I'd say that around here 75% of the hay is put up in big round bales and if you look at the hay equipment built in this part of the country (JD and Vermeer hay equipment are both built within 80 miles of here) the large round balers is where most of their R&D work is going. | |
