| Obviously rate of application will determine how many acres you can cover with a tank. On a 1,000 gal tank we normally figure there an avg of 4,250 of AA & approx 6,000 of usuable solution in a 1500 gal tank. AA is 82% N so you cab figure from there. On a 1,000 gal tank we figure 50# of AA (41#/N) per 1%., 75# of AA (61.5#/N) on a 1500 gal tank. That's if you're lucky enough to get a tank that the gauge works on.
Many will argue the pros& cons of AA vs 28% but from my experience in 35+ yrs of farming AA is the more economical form of AA in most years for us. Whenever we have used 28% we have always been disappointed. WE have a soil lab tissue test our corn plants every year in late July / early Aug & corn that had 28% applied to it will consistently tests the lowest for available nitrates in the plant.
