Brazilton KS | At 100# N per acre a 1000 gallon tank will use 2% per acre, so a full dealer tank will do about 40-43 acres depending no how full they fill them Double 1000's will do about 80 acres. A 1500 will do about 60. Gallons per acre are almost a wash between 32-0-0 and 82-0-0. The NH3 is a lot higher percentage but there are only 4.something pounds per gallon vs 11 pounds per gallon of 32. Liquid is perhaps easier to handle....just takes a simple pump and is handled at atmospheric pressure....If you like having the nasty burning sticky stuff around. It rusts everything it gets close too. NH3 is self pressurizing and you don't have to deal with getting it washed off. It's non coorosive. It does, however, require diligence and care in handling. Accidents with ammonia are not a good thing.
