| I am doing it-just planted those fields last so gave a little more time to warm up. Making strips between rows in fall if possible-or even just a day or two before planting can make a big difference.
The guy that started me no-tilling does several thousand acres of no-till corn and beans-including one field that has been continuous no-till corn for 16 years! That field is the most mellow ground you can imagine. In the fall they take the chains and opening disks off the planter and just use the row cleaners to make strips-or the anyhydrous bar if they do fall anhydrous. I know they use AMS is they don't get anhydrous down-but I am not personally a big fan of AMS. | |
