Oswald No-Till Farm Cleghorn, IA | It seems in our area you should figure between $0.75-$1.00 per bushel for land rent depending on what rent and what yield that year.
Even with RR program, no-till, and ammonia, you have to figure $50/ac of a cowboy math custom rate or another $0.25-$0.33 per bushel in equipment cost.
Seed program... about same as equipment cost when planting expensive seed at 32,000 and up.
Then fertilizer... who knows.
Then dryer gas, then storage, then transportation. Few guys ever calculate those things on a per acre basis. Actually, storage should be left out of the equation as it becomes a merchandizing cost, not a production/delivery cost.
Corn price, with exception of 1996, is under the board of trade. www.firstcoop.com will get you corn bids as will www.littlesiouxcornprocessors.com
I really like hearing/seeing what is going on in other areas. Always something to learn from guys elsewhere.
Thanks,
Tom
