Sorry but N testing is too variable and takes too many sites and years to establish good solid data. New hybrids usually last only 3-4 years before we have an improvement. N is very dependant on water and a dry year and a wet year can show many differences. I can tell you which of my hybrids respond to added nitrogen or even sidedress nitrogen or all nitrogen up front or split applied but as for a number of units per N for each hybrid, you are dreaming. I agree with your statements on N but we are going to have to wait for the gene for nitrogen use to be seperated and then tweaked to operate on X amount of N. Thats a pretty big wish you have, but it will come maybe sooner than we think. | |
