I went down to Wichita to watch some baseball games this past weekend, I noticed the field you were talking about. My guess would be planter problems, but that's just a guess. I even wondered for a while if it was something other than soybeans.
I sure felt sorry for those cows in the flint hills, 100+ degrees and not many trees for shade!
