If your saying you have 10-13 stems per ft, meaning that many plants per sq ft? That is a very good stand, plenty thick enought. I would just spray out the grass with a herb. Post or what ever works good in your area. If the area that doenst have any established alfalfa growing in it you can try to no till some new alfalfa seed in that area...
