I'm not sure what kind of wheat you grow, but there are Clearfield hard winter wheats that are a naturally selected variety of wheat that is herbicide resistant. It is used for situations where goatgrass, cheat grass and ferral rye are a concern. Typically it is sprayed late fall or early spring to eliminate these grasses before foxtail would be emerged. The chemicals,"Beyond" are also fairly expensive and I have never grown it for that reason. Farmers made it pretty clear to monsanto several years back that they didn't want RR wheats due to export market concerns and monsanto declared the plan dead a couple of years ago. There is a new push however by some of the wheat groups to revisit the GMO question.
