Prairie Home MO
I hate to break the certified growers bubble but here goes. I was a Pioneer sales rep for over 20 years. We were told that Pioneer wheat was not certified, to my suprise. In order for them to produce enough supply they could not use the foundation-cetified system. The seed their growers use is the same that you buy in bag. The only difference is that theirs is scouted by company people for off types, weeds, etc.. We do buy a new pro box of seed each year for seed but only because we feel they do a much better job on purity than we can on the farm. At least in MO Pioneer is most always the top yielder. If you treat bin run like seed I feel there is not any difference in yield. Robert
