It will help break down the old residue, provide more roots in the soil to loosen it up and provide a large increase in organic matter, hold down weeds, makes great pheasant hunting around here. Those guys getting the big yields like Ray Rawson and Francis Childs will tell you that soil biology is a huge key to better yields and lots of roots and humus is the best way there. Your volunteer wheat is a free cover crop. I would simply spray 24D and let the wheat grow. | |
