| We went back to all RR beans again this year after two years of some non-GMO's due to the fact that nothing we found in a conventional bean program would knock down the waterhemp. Last year we had some conventional beans that got four post sprayings and the last two were to get waterhemp that the second trip didn't get, as it turned out the following two trips couldn't get it either and we were just wasting our time by spraying. Until there is a new soybean herbicided that is more effective on waterhemp than what's available now we won't be raising anymore conventional beans. If somebody would come out with a product that would control waterhemp in beans like Callisto does in corn I think there would be a big jump in the number of non-gmo beans. | |
