Haven't done any tissue tests. Had planned on doing some but the crop is suffering from extreme drought and figured the results would be affected . Soil is naturally high in potash and Magneium and has high CEC. Thought maybe strip-till would help but looked at a neighbors strip till field and his crop is in worse shape than mine. The corn was easier to dig up but no more roots and no deeper roots. Will look at some narrow row corn in the next few days. Last year it looked pretty good but don't know if it was the narrow rows or the rootworm corn he had. It's hard to get good info on hybred roots as the companies seem more interested in standability than how deep they go and how tough they are. I will say that the rootworm corn I have dug up has slightly bigger, deeper root systems and seem to be handling the stress a little better. I have also noted that most non-rootworm corn shows 10-15% root damage from something.
