We have a 7000 we use to plant small commercial fields and male corn in seed production. We put Precision meters with the belts on the 2 rows we use for male corn. Seed co field man kept going on about it having the best drop of any planter he had been around. We intended to compare the 2 outside rows to the factory meters on the inside 4. However, when we got to checking the drop we found an anomally. Did some looking and found that the seed tube had worn enough on the male rows to afect the drop. It now has Precision Tubes on the male rows. I guess I told you all that to tell you this. Get the Precison units. Go all the way, meters, belts, seed tubes. Give Bill at Precision Seeding a call (web site at http://www.precisionseeding.net/) They are a PP dealer and have worked with us quite a bit this winter learning how to work with our new to us JD vac planter.
