| At brown silk you have no worries of plant injury from 2,4-D (at labeled rates) in fact is used to be pretty common practice to help clean up late showing weeds.
Another poster mentioned greensnap, after tasseling that is no longer an issue as the plant has stopped growing, so growth regulator herbicides like 2,4-D cannot have a great impact. Once the tassel emerges the corn stalk stiffens a bit, making it much less prone to greensnap. Under high winds after tasseling you would more likely see plants which had roots tear off or let loose of the soil and fall over. | |
