Subject: Drought & Alfalfa - feed quality and plant health?

East central Minnesota no signifcant rain since May. 1st and 2nd crop alfalfa harvested - decent yeilds, now 3rd crop is about knee high in most places (some stunted and shorter in other areas of field), but it is starting to flower (Its only been 23 days since last cutting). I'll start cutting, but what will the feed quality of the alfalfa be like? This feild was planted (directed seeded) last August. Will the continued drought kill this young field if cut now (is it better to leave it uncut?). Field fertility is high - good, just no water . . . .

thanks
